Discover Canada's most epic scenery on an iconic rail journey

Experience the very best of the Canadian Rockies with an epic rail journey across British Columbia and into Alberta. Travelling through scenic valleys, along the mighty Fraser River, through Hell’s Gate, and past the magnificent Pyramid Falls, this Rocky Mountaineer rail route, only accessible by train, also features the majestic Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies.

On our tours, you'll also have the oppotunity to Jasper's pristine wilderness before travelling to Banff via the Icefields Parkway - one of the most scenic roads in the world. Visit the incredible Columbia Icefield -  the largest ice accumulation south of the Arctic Circle. Enjoy time exploring the beautiful mountain town of Banff and spend a night in Calgary (also known as Cowtown, thanks to its famous rodeo connections).

When does the Rocky Mountaineer run?

When does the Rocky Mountaineer run?

The Rocky Mountaineer is in operation between April and October with twice-weekly departures.

In late spring, you may still be able to see snow capping the mighty mountains. The temperatures will be cooler with fewer crowds.
Summer provides longer days and increased chances of spotting wildlife - or enjoying sunsets from whichever beautiful mountain town is your place of rest for the evening. This is the busiest time of year in the Rockies.
Early autumn sees the leaves beginning to turn with vibrant fall foliage visible across the landscape - a spectacular sight.
