Japan Christmas Holidays

Celebrating 25 Years of tour excellence
Close
Although not a national holiday in Japan, Christmas is a great time of year to explore this wonderful and diverse destination. The cold, dry weather means the countryside is often blanketed with fresh snow while in the cities you’ll find gorgeous illuminations to mark the festive period, with restaurants, shopping malls and public areas draped in the most incredible displays of lights that will get you in the Christmas mood. In Japan, Christmas is for couples (Christmas Eve is the Japanese version of Valentine’s Day) and for getting together with friends and going out for dinner. Families also indulge in a fun Japanese tradition – getting together to feast on KFC for Christmas dinner (unfortunately not included on our tours) followed by a strawberry shortcake Christmas cake.
