British Citizen passport holders can enter for tourism purposes without a visa for stays of up to 90 days.
You may be required to complete an immigration or arrival form before entering the country. If this applies, your final documentation pack which is sent approximately two weeks before departure and will include full details and instructions.

British Citizen & Irish passport holders can travel to China without a visa for stays of up to 30 days, valid for travel dates before 31st December 2026
For travel to China from 1st January 2027 onwards, a visa will be required for British Citizen & Irish passport holders unless the visa-free regime gets extended.
The application process involves completing a digital form and submitting it along with your physical passport by post. Our visa partners will handle the application on your behalf and return your passport with the approved Chinese visa issued inside your passport. You must be a permanent UK resident, residing in the UK to use our visa service. Comprehensive instructions will be sent to you, or your travel agent, approximately 10 weeks before your departure date. Please be advised that you will be without your passport for 2-4 weeks while your visa application is processed.
For Wendy Wu Tours escorted group tours, the cost of the visa is included. If the visa-free regime is extended to cover travel in 2027 or 2028, the visa fee will be discounted out of your holiday cost.
Important Note: If you hold a British passport, were born in China, Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan, and are required to apply for a visa, please contact us immediately. Standard visa application procedures do not apply in these situations, and Wendy Wu Tours cannot provide assistance with visa arrangements.

If you are travelling to Tibet on one of our escorted group tours, your Tibet permit will be given to you upon arrival to Tibet.
Although Hong Kong is part of the People’s Republic of China, but it is a Special Administrative Region (SAR) with its own immigration controls. British Citizen passport holders can enter Hong Kong without a visa for up to 6 months.
