Cruise the waterways on a private, traditional "kettuvalam", converted from a rice barge. Over the next two days you will cruise through the 900km network of waterways that fringe the coast from Alleppey to Nedumudy and admire the lush scenery and rural life that drifts by.
This extension is suitable for those who wish to visit the <a href="/india/kerala">Kerala</a> Backwaters. You will spend overnight throughout the extension on a traditional Kettuvalam houseboat. This is a private tour and all meals are included for your convenience.
On arrival at Kochi Airport, you will be met and transferred to Alleppey where you will board your Kettuvallam. These houseboats are converted from traditional rice barges. Cruise through the sleepy backwaters, enjoying authentic Keralan cuisine whilst relaxing on board.
Continue cruising through Kerala's backwaters. You will see small villages, temples, schools and witness the lifestyle of people living on the riverbanks. An unhurried backwater cruise on a traditional houseboat is the best way to discover Kerala's exceptional scenic beauty.
Disembark your houseboat at Alleppey before transferring back to Kochi Airport where your arrangements end.
