Rise early to meet your guide at your Delhi hotel to transfer to the station. Take the express train to Kalka where you will switch to the famous Toy Train. Travel on the narrow gauge mountain railway to Shimla, summer capital of British India, and nicknamed the ‘Queen of Hill Stations’. Shimla sits in a stunning location sprawling across a ridge deep in the Himalayan foothills.
Start the day with a walk to Jakhoo Temple, which sits at the highest point of the city, offering incredible views. Later discover Shimla’s most important sights including Christ Church, northern India’s second oldest church and Scandal Point. Visit the Himalayan Aviary this afternoon, home to the Himalayan Monal amongst many other species of birds.
This morning admire the renaissance grandeur of the Vice Regal Lodge located on Observatory Hill, before driving back to Kalka. Take the train to Delhi enjoying dinner on board, on arrival this evening transfer to your hotel.
After check-out you will be transferred to Delhi airport for your onward flight.
