Chitwan National Park

Chitwan National Park

Close

Nepal’s first national park, founded in 1973 as a rhino sanctuary, Chitwan encompasses vast tracts of rich, sub-tropical habitats of Nepal’s lowland Terai area. This is one of Asia’s premier wildlife viewing parks, providing refuge for one of the last populations of the single-horned Asiatic rhino, and a population of endangered Bengal tigers. Within the forests, marshlands and grasslands you’ll also have the chance to spot monkeys, sloth bears, wild boars, elephants and over 600 species of birds. It is the sub-tropical climate of this region that provides the perfect conditions for the vast amount of flora and fauna here, making your chance of making a once-in-a-lifetime spot all the better.
