We saw an amazing amount of Japan with a wonderful guide. Amazing place great people and good travelling companions

A well organised and informative trip. Our guide, Madoka, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. She did everything she could to make our holiday special. The food and hotels were excellent. The daily tour itinerary packed in as many sights and activities as possible so was very tiring. We would have preferred less Shrines to give some free time. Overall a perfect holiday.

We rang to make a reservation for a holiday next year. The representative was very efficient and made the booking for us. It was straightforward.

The food was as expected for a large group of 26 and a bit ordinary. Hotels were large international ones. The trip focussed on temples and castles and tourist sights, with little chance to interact with Japanese people. Overall, it could have been a lot more interesting, but it was worth going for what it was. Little pension hotels in the country are often a better experience, and small groups eat better because the chef is not cooking school dinners.

There was a good mix of activities and visits, although the number of tourists at this time of the year was greater than anticipated. Personally, I enjoyed the drumming and sumo wrestling most of the activities.
The scenery was spectacular with very green mountains and actually seeing the top of Mount Fuji while at the phlox festival was also a highlight.
Takayama was a lovely town which was probably worth another day.
On the whole some of the street food was more to my taste than some of the included vegetarian food as I found it rather too bland, but that's just my preference.

Wonderful holiday got to see so many sights. Transport was great tour guide fantastic overall would highly recommend a tour in Japan and Wendy wu delivered a great experience

The whole trip was very well organised from enquiry to departure. Every little query was answered in a friendly, professional manner. The 11 night tour ran like clockwork and covered a large number of locations spread across Japan. We travelled by coach, bullet train and local express train, which all ran exactly to schedule without a hitch. The tour content was so varied and covered temple visits, snow monkeys, the deer at Nara, mount Fuji, two boat trips (one a meal in Tokyo bay), tea ceremony, origami, sampling sake, a trip to the top of the Sky Tree in Tokyo and numerous other locations. Meals were all included and allowed us to sample Japanese cuisine to its full at some really nice restaurants. Our guide for The Experience Japan tour was Naomi, who was an absolute delight to spend time with. She was so knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and funny and made it her mission to ensure that everyone in the party had the best experience possible. She was an absolute credit to both herself and Wendy Wu Tours. Both myself and my son had the experience of a lifetime and would thoroughly recommend both this tour and Wendy Wu.

Whereas the holiday was true as to its itinerary our issue was the actual timing of events. All trips appeared to have been rushed with the main aim to do it as quickly as possible to ensure we were in time for the lunch,? Lunch again was rushed as we had to get to another sight. Most of the sights did not require us to have so much time there and some of them were under construction which meant we could not visit it properly. We were given some ‘down time’ to do our own .’thing’, in reality 15 minutes doesn’t allow for much to be done !! Overall a very rushed tour without proper time to relax and take in the vista and atmosphere:

Japan is an absolutely beautiful country, it was brought alive by our very competent Guide Reo Sakamoto and Wendy Wu tours.

Repetitive meals with no time to relax. Six local guides, only penultimate one with good English and organisational abilities.The professional guide was ill prior to the trip and a professional replacement was unavailable. There was a lack of information on the country when travelling between viewings
Communication whisper system poor, guides stopped using it.
To many places visited each day.
Rushing to get to the set time for the next meal.
I clocked 5 miles each day on my phone some people found this difficult and sat out some of the viewings.
The guide line of £300 Per person was far to much other than markets every one took visa.

The tour was well organised and lead by a very helpful and informative guide. The information before and on each day of the tour was clear and timely.
