Our tour guide, Emiko, was fabulous. I learned so much history and heard the many stories/fables associated with places around Japan. She was very helpful and answered so many questions from our group with a smile on her face the whole time.
I visited well-known places and areas that I hadn't heard of before, which was a good mix. There are lots of temples and shrines in Japan.
On Miyajima Island, near Hiroshima, there are wild deer wandering around. They are very aggressive. I was walking back to the ferry with a gelato & a deer bit my trousers, then jumped on me, then bit me on the hip (it left teeth marks) to get to my gelato. It was a scary & painful experience, unfortunately. I'm relating this in the review for people to be aware not to walk around with any food & be wary of the deer.
The tea ceremony and making washi paper were fun experiences.
I have unusual dietary requirements and although the restaurants are told ahead of time, they usually were not very good at giving me food without the items that I couldn't eat. Sometimes they tried to substitute foods for me. One restaurant substituted a bread roll with porridge! If you can eat anything, you'll have no problems. If you can't, bring snacks for yourself.
There are usually convenience stores near the hotels, so you can also buy food there.
The hotels were very nice and comfortable and in good locations. All had a buffet breakfast of both Japanese and Western style foods.
The coaches that transported us around had lovely drivers and were comfortable, although none of them had toilets. But we did make stop at services along our routes, which were really great.
Japan is a very clean country with the cleanest public toilets that I've ever seen.

It’s very full on, but very well organised, our tour guide was great.
I would recommend flying two days before tour begins as we flew day before our flight was delayed, on arrival to the first hotel after27 hours of travel we were rushed into the welcome meal, didn’t have time to refresh, the meal was very good as was all the food.
The tour takes you from one end of Japan to the other, if there is anything you want to see which isn’t included in the tour, there isn’t much free time but our guide was very helpful to organise anything else for you.

We had an excellent guide EMI,who shared her extensive knowledge of her country which made a great holiday a wonderful experience shared with a fantastic group of people.

Excellent organisation throughout. At 72 years old I found the pace very good, occaionally hard work. Some of the castle stairs were very steep...upto 61 degrees!
Some fair distances covered by coach but itinerary and breaks were well planned.

Covers a lot of ground and sights. A little hectic at times.

Very poor value for money. Unable to say I what learnt about Japen. Guide reading from phone unable to translate easily into English. She lost track what she was trying to explain.
A lot of travel by bus even though by rail

Not enough time in places to look around as very rushed. Very, very little free time.
Would like a partial refund.
For the money this trip cost could have had a couple of nice cruises with balacony. So don't waste your money.
Rep never asked person who was ill to wear a mask which lead to more people being ill.

Fabulous itinerary and we were very lucky with the weather. Only one day of rain ( late Sept '26 ) Lucky enough to see all the major sights in brilliant sunshine. To see the massive spectacle of Mt. Fuji with a beautiful collar of cloud was breathtaking to say the least. A very full-on trip. Tiring but the group of 28 made it and everyone got on so well together. Our guides English was something that took a while to tune into and her understanding of questions from the group needed a bit of tweaking but she did her job adequately. This was outweighed by the brilliant fun and humour of the group and the itinerary was as I have said top notch so not a huge problem.

Very busy holiday. But you certainly get a taste of Japan. Bonus that all meals are included and are very good with a good range of local and international dishes

The tour gave a comprehensive overview of Japan, especially the main island where most of the places of interest can be found. The visits covered places of interest - Mt Fuji, castles, temples and shrines, gardens, museums and interesting venues for food and drink buffs. The food tended to be mainly Japanese, as one would expect, but there were western food offerings as well. The hotels were mainly city hotels that catered for western travellers and were suitable for the task. A great way to visit a new country, complemented by a brilliant tour guide.

Full review too long to post, however briefly for that amount spent I expected to be transferred to the hotel by taxi, not the local airport bus which dropped me in a multi storey carpark at night. I was travelling solo for over 24hrs, tired, and left wondering around trying to find my hotel. Japanese is not my first language but surely a private transfer isn't too much to ask as all other trips ive taken you are met at airport by the company! Ill be contacting WWu ..

A wonderful and informative tour. It was well organised with a good schedule. The tour guide was excellent.

Friendly and helpful.

Never having done a guided trip before we were a bit cautious but decided that to get the most out of this epic trip we would bite the bullet. There were 26 of us 13 Brits and 13 Aussies. Plus our glorious leader and guide Yama . In two weeks we experienced every facet of Japanese life and history. Temples, Tea Ceremony, Snow Monkeys, Mount Fuji, Hiroshima, Sumo Wrestling,Wasabi-Miso-Washi Paper production. All were sampled and some made too. We travelled by coach,bullet train, boat, cable car and on foot. The whole experience was overwhelmingly awesome. From 3-4 hundred year old houses/temples to the modern day skyscrapers of Tokyo we devoured it all. Most of us were 60+ but we all made the grade with people able to bail out if they felt it would be too hard. Friendships were formed and memories we will treasure for ever. Accommodations and meals were superb. Can't recommend this trip enough. And especially our guide.
