Value for money. Excellent tour. Really full itinerary and extremely well looked after. We had an amazing tour guide known as Eddie Lau, he looked after us so, so well. Everything was so well organised and efficient. We were fed well and went to all sorts of places. The hotels were of good quality. Would use Wendy Wu again.

Content of tour is very good, it covers all major sites, but felt too much is squeezed into the time allocated resulting in long and very tiring days. This relates primarily to the first few days in Beijing and Xi’an. The tour from the Yangtze through to Shanghai was perfect.

You need to be very aware of the physical requirements of this tour particularly if you are of more mature years as we had an elderly person who struggled to keep up and actually missed out as he couldn’t do some of trip..

An amazing full on experience that surpassed my expectations.
We travelled from Beijing to Shanghai escorted by our national guide Louis and a series of local guides. Our group of 14 (from Australia, New Zealand and UK) travelled by coach, boat, bullet train, high speed train and internal flights. Our hotels were of a very good standard, the food was plentiful and excellent but limited in choice for vegetarians.
Bucket lists were ticked at the Forbidden City, The Great Wall, the Terracotta Warriors and let's not forget the Pandas.
Particularly memorable were a Drone spectacular by the river in Chongquin, a lakeside show in Guilin overlooked by the amazing illuminated Karst rock formations and the walled city of Xi'an as beautiful by night as it is by day.
China is an enormous country in the tiny bit we saw a country that although proud of it's heritage and ancient buildings does not dwell in the past. Parts of Shanghai resemble sets from a science fiction film - ultra modern, clean lines and very high tech.
My lasting memories will be of an amazing country with gracious, welcoming people. Would I go again - definitely if it wasn't quite so far away.

An excellent holiday, where the food was always plentiful and of very high quality, the places and events were all world class and stunning in their beauty.
The organisation was always perfect and explanations were always on hand. The value felt unbeatable and the single bad thing is, all my future holidays could end up being disappointing compared to this one.

This was a faultless tour, superbly organised by Wendy Wu, with excellent tour leaders and itinerary.
I would unhesitatingly recommend this tour to anyone wishing to experience some of China's most iconic sights in a comfortable and stress-free way in the company of like-minded people.

Top destination, excellent accommodation, top quality food and the best guide I’ve ever encountered, in 28 years of travelling.

A fabulous tour incorporating all the key elements of China in one tour. It’s an action packed itinerary taking in all the key sites and carefully managed by your national guide, with local guides at each other main location to assist.

We had 24 on this tour group and everyone got on pretty well. Our National guide George took great care of us - he was super organised and his level of English was really impressive. He diligently catered for the various dietary requirements within the group and gave us rich insights into how China is. My last trip to China was in 1992 and the advancement is amazing! Certainly the standard of food and service facilities have improved massively!

There are several early morning starts but all understandable given that we had to cover vast distances using the various transport options - bullet trains, internal flights, cruise boats and we took a ride on the maglev train in Shanghai too! Beijing and Xian were amazing and stepped in history of course but beware that it’s full on with lots of walking as the sites are vast. The Great Wall is spectacular but that is pretty steep so those that are super for can get a challenge!

If would have been good to have a little break or chill day but we used the first day of the Yangtze River cruise to do this. The optional excursions are good - especially the acrobatics show and the night performance in Guilin if the weather permits it - go! We had a mini heatwave whilst we’re were there this March so be prepared and bring summer clothes!! Or buy some at Yangshuo!

Would highly recommend this tour and will definitely go with Wendy Wu Tours again.

This was an excellent tour which covered a lot of ground in the space of just over a fortnight. Besides the impressiveness of the actual locations visited themselves, the trip was greatly enhanced by the quality of the national and local guides, who were able to convey a lot of information in a very clear, entertaining and often amusing way. In addition, the tour organisation was superb, the accommodation was very comfortable and of a high standard, and the meals provided were, almost without exception, delicious.

Just returned from a brilliant tour. The itinerary was well designed, mixing historical, cultural, countryside and urban. A well balanced, if short, insight into China. Being a tour, some days were hard work but I can’t think of anything I would have wanted to leave out. The experience was full of surprises. One thing in particular was the friendliness of the local Chinese. I am not sure what I expected but when we were out and about, be it in a child’s playground, shopping mall, or historical site, they would happily interact with us. Within the language constraints we had some lovely conversations.
The national guide, David, was excellent. His organisation of the itinerary and his relationship with the tour members was exceptional.
Additional to the tour there were several optional events. Each of which was very enjoyable and enhanced the experience. For me the best one was Impression Sanjie Liu In Yangshuo
One observation that might be worth making concerns budgeting. Wedy Wu literature suggest between £300 and £400 pounds per person for spending. Generally correct but the cost of optional excursions does increase the spend. I would suggest £600 has being more appropriate.
To summarise, the tour was a fantastic experience. I would like to thank all those from Wendy Wu to contributed to its success.

A wonderful introduction to China with a great group of well travelled people. Our guide was helpful, informative and interesting and the tour was a good mixture of busy sightseeing days and more relaxed days on the Yangtze river where we could enjoy the beautiful scenery as well as the talks and entertainment on board. Everything was meticulously organised and we were given enough free time to explore on our own. I would thoroughly recommend this tour and can think of no negatives at all.

Excellent organisation at " home base " including visa acquisition prior to tour.
Facilities of hotels , selected restaurants and excursions all very high standard .
BUT - because of the high degree of activities involved in the tour , it was ESSENTIAL that we had an EXCELLENT Tour Guide ( Lisa ) who ensured a smooth and seamless total tour . ( will send separate commendation regarding tour guide to Customer report site ).
Without her continued efficiency , the tour content just wouldn't work to the timescales . Full on trip !!!!
