Southwest China is a beautiful part of China. The tour leader Joe and the local guides were all very good. There was about twelve of us in the group; which was a good number. I particularly liked the Panda conservation centre near Chengdu.

This 16 day tour of the highlights of China was amazing. Wendy Wu organised everything perfectly, and our guide Gary Guo was excellent. He managed to shepherd 18 of us through Beijing, Xian, Yichang, Yangtze River cruise, Chongqing, Guilin, Yangshuo and Shanghai via 2 high speed trains, 2 internal flights and 2 river cruises (4 nights and 4 hours).

The standard of the hotels was very good, and all busses were of a high standard with good, safe drivers.

Everything listed as included in the itinerary was included, and the few extra options were of good quality.

The food was plentiful and of good quality, although it did get somewhat monotonous over the 2 weeks of very similar dishes for lunch and dinner.

I would not hesitate to recommend Wendy Wu and Gary Guo for a tour of China.

We booked online, but had a question , and someone phoned back fairly quickly, and was able to help us.

This was a very mixed "holiday". Some of it was excellent whilst other parts were less so. First, the roads in the Chinese cities are very good, big highways, no potholes. They are also gridlocked, traffic lights every 150m, takes hours to get anywhere and they are plagued with the electric motor bikes, no licensing, no regulation, no registration, no training. They are lethal!
Shanghai hotel very nice but out of the centre so took hours to get anywhere.
City interesting and modern, loved Tianzifang but would have liked more time there.
Suzhou hotel very nice but only one night, excursions very good, if somewhat crowded. Hangzhou hotel awful, poor food, nothing in English in room, no idea how to operate stuff and no English speaker at the desk. Trips around Hangzhou varied and interesting. Guilin river cruise to Yangshou very special then bullet train to Chengdu. Visit to giant Buddha, 2;30 bus ride there, 2:30 bus ride back for a 15 minute boat ride to see the Buddha, very impressive but most of the group refused the 500 stair hike around the Buddha so it was a long day for little reward. Panda visit, who doesn't like a Panda? Unforgettable! Xian, Terracotta Warriors, busy but not too crowded, also unforgettable. Bullet train to Beijing... why were couples seated apart? Clearly the booking was made after the local population had their go at it. Beijing, horrific traffic but major sites covered and none failed to impress, next day The Great Wall, an early start but worth it as there were no crowds until leaving time...beware! Locals like to take a rest on the steepest parts and just sit in the middle, they express surprise if someone nearly falls over them or asks them to move to the side. Departure well handled and transfer etc all went well.
Now we are home we need a holiday to rest up!

Excellent holiday, very impressed with China. Susan our guide was wonderful. The food was terrific. The trip is go go go throughout so we feel quite exhausted afterwards. I don’t recommend Air China so in retrospect I would want to fly with another airline. However it was a direct flight and most others are indirect.
River cruise ship was nice but it didn’t start sailing till the second day of boarding so it’s really a three day cruise with four nights on board.

Extremely well managed and excellent value for money considering the vast range of activities included. Local guides exceptionally good, caring and knowledgeable. Hotels were of a very good standard and the food was decent. All aspects of the trip were well communicated. I would hesitate to recommend Wendy Wu’s Glories of China.

We had a great holiday which more than lived up to our expectations. All the guides were excellent and very knowledgeable. In particularly our national guide Linda who fully supported the whole group.

Easy to book and amend (as unfortunately we had to). Trip details very accurate and helpful to have the walking guide.
The tour was exceptionally well run. Local guides were all knowledgeable & engaging. Our tour guid "Amanda" was fantastic, so patient and knowledgeable.

Nice hotels - breakfast was buffet in all hotels; chines restaurant banquet every lunch & dinner.

The sights were well picked, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, The Great Wall, Terracotta warriors, and Pandas before a relaxing recharge of the batteries on a Yankzee River cruise.

The Avatar mountains were very very wet - not much views but we did it all the same.
Some stops eg jade & silk factories & brewery were hard sales.
Shows were optional & some included.
This tour is full on, but fantastic and well planned.

This has been the most amazing trip we have ever been on. The trip is organised so well, and our tour guide Bruce was fantastic. He was with us for the whole two weeks and made it most enjoyable with his good sense of humour. It takes the stress out of a holiday when you don't have to worry about timings or getting around, we were free to enjoy the wonderful sights of China. We covered so much in the two weeks, and I loved the little experiences thrown in, such as tea tasting, the evening shows and the odd surprise entertainment at meal times. We would have never of experienced so much if we had arranged the trip independently. The food was excellent, and there was more than enough of it! We had plenty of opportunities to have free time to wonder, which was nice. We've never been on a group tour before, and we were lucky enough to be with a lovely bunch of people, which also made the trip special. Hotels were wonderful, so nice to come back to a modern, clean, fully equipped hotel at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. Wendy Wu was so helpful from booking and all the way through, absolute five-star service from them, highly recommend and will definitely use them again. Thank you Wendy Wu.

The holiday was well organised and our tour guild was very informative with good English and would always go that extra mile to help you. For myself it was too full on, we had very little free time in must of the places we stayed at apart from Shangai.
