Our guide Chloe made the holiday. She was always going the extra mile to ensure everyone was looked after. We saw many of the major attractions. The tour ran very efficiently and enjoyable. It showed how tours should be done.

Our 28 day trip to China with Wendy Wu was outstanding in always. The content of the itinerary was very well put together, although full on everyday we did have plenty of time to relax and enjoyed very scenic train journeys. The organisation pre and during was excellent in addition our national guide who was with us throughout is an exceptional person who looked after us in every way, Maya is a huge asset to the Wendy Wu team and was a major factor in the success of our trip.
The tour itself covered many many national attractions, parks and monuments with cultural add ons, in addition we attended several evening shows which were spectacular, colourful and thrilling. The hotels and food included were all very good, well placed hotels, very clean, big bedrooms with perfect bathrooms, excellent quality linen and towels. The “Chinese Banquets” we received most days offered a huge verity of tasty dishes and good selection of vegetables, gluten free options were available although Shanghai was difficult.
China felt very safe and our travelling throughout saw no problems, our coach drivers were friendly and excellent, driving safely in a very busy country.
We would certainly recommend Wend Wu and hope to travel with them again soon.

Fantastic holiday to China that rocked all the boxes and more. Would recommend this holiday if you really want to see China, and all its sights from walls to Pandas and temples to rivers, this trip has it all.

Hectic but we covered so much it was fantastic, the local guides were very knowledgeable and our trip guide took great care of us.

Great itinerary. The guide, Ken, was excellent. He keeps his cool, explains things well, has excellent English, understands British and Australian sense of humour irony and jargon. In short he is a Gem.

We had an amazing trip thanks to the wonderful organisational skills of our National guide Jerry. Everything ran like clockwork. The local guides were also fantastic. We saw everything on the itinerary and more. Wonderful cities, scenery, bullet trains and boat trip, not to forget the Pandas. Was surprised at first to go to a zoo to see them but after watching Ben Fogle in Chengdu realise that had we gone there we may not have seen any at all! Would highly recommend Wendy Wu for an escorted trip.

We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, and our group of 19 were lead by Jackie with great efficiency.
The local guides were excellent and provided us with historical and local information in great detail and, in most cases, humour.
Our accommodation throughout the tour was very good although we did have a few technical issues in Tibet. Lhasa Snow Paradise Hotel had recently been refurbished and has installed high tech systems in the rooms, including a toilet which automatically lifts the lid and self flushes, if it works properly that is! We had to get assistance twice during our stay. Also the lights, curtains and tv were voice activated through a smart speaker but only accepted Chinese commands.
We treated the Yangtze River cruise as a respite from the travel schedule and were pleased that we upgraded our on board package. It came at a good time in the tour. The à la cart menu was a change from the lazy Susan meals we had been given on a daily basis, although the quality of those meals were always first class.
If we were to advise people about this tour, we would certainly recommend it, but we would say to go to Beijing a day earlier than when it starts as you do hit the road running on day one!
We saw all the sights, had a proper introduction to China and its’ people and cultures and our group were a great bunch of people. All in all a great experience and there wasn’t a single hitch in the travel arrangements and accommodation.

I recently went on the China Delight tour, and overall, the tour was filled with lots of “delight”!

The hotels were good, and the transportation between cities was comfortable and well organised. The national tour guide, Louis, was excellent. He clearly loved his job and was very passionate about what he did. He delivered the entire tour with great enthusiasm and genuinely put his heart into it. His knowledge of China was phenomenal, and he was always willing to share interesting information and answer questions.

The main criticism I have is regarding the food. We had 16 breakfasts, 16 lunches and 16 dinners. The breakfasts were buffet-style and generally good. However, the 29 lunches and dinners were predominantly Chinese food, with many of the same dishes repeated throughout the tour. Dishes such as stir-fried cabbage, sweet and sour meat, plain egg omelette, green beans, broccoli and mushrooms appeared repeatedly, sometimes every day. After a while, the meals became quite repetitive.

I feel the dining experience could be greatly improved by offering more variety, including different regional Chinese dishes as we travelled through different parts of China, as well as perhaps a few Western options occasionally.

Overall, the itinerary was good, although there is room for improvement. The hotels and transportation were good, and Louis was an outstanding tour guide who really enhanced the experience.

Most importantly, China itself is an amazing country with so much to see and experience. It is definitely a must-visit destination, and I would recommend visiting China.

Well organised, very well fed, hotels good, George our Tour Manager was excellent. My highlight was the Terracotta Warriors - superb. The Great Wall of China was a bit disappointing as I feel we saw the great steps of China instead. No wall to see really, just a lot of steep steps to climb along with several thousand other people. The group of 27 really gelled well and overall had a fantastic time!

A whirlwind tour of major sites. National Guide was very efficient and managed any problems well - he looked after us. All hotels very good but the negative was that included meals disappointing - the Chinese are proud to say they eat everything on 4 legs except tables - and some of the dishes offered upheld that.

The tour was exactly as advertised but didnt explain how much travelling was involved. Not just the trains, planes and boats but also how long it took the coach to get anywhere in cities of over 20 million people.
Fortunatelg we had a very good group who got on well and didnt slow the group down.
Some chinese people were very rude by European standards. Talking through concerts, pushing to get to front of queues etc

A brilliant trip where you get to see a great variety of places and experiences. It is very full on and not the best if you like to take things slowly or are not overly fit. However I would certainly recommend it for anyone enjoying amazing Chinese food and lots of interesting places to visit and excellent guides to inform you.

George Pu was our guide. George was most delightful and knowledgeable. George explained how his country worked and its beliefs.
The tour was interesting, however a little more time was required at certain sites, especially "free" time for exploration.

The China by land part was excellent in every way, the guide Michael was exceptional, attention to details such as itinerary, lunches and group dynamics were beyond compare. We had such a marvellous trip in China that words can hardly do it justice.
The Royal Caribbean Cruise was great except for the places we stopped at didn’t do Japan any justice. The trips were overpriced and very underwhelming to be completely honest. This was very disappointing. We know this is on the cruise company and not Wendy Wu but feel they should get this feedback.
On balance the trip as a whole was still good but it is sad that the Japan element means we can’t rate it as outstanding, the China element of the trip was truly outstanding.

We were on the Majestic Yangtze tour with Wendy Wu Tours for 14 days in mid-September 2026 and what a trip it was!

All the way from Shanghai to Beijing and so much in-between from a night cruise in Shanghai to such "wonders of the world" as the Terracotta Warriors and Great Wall of China, the cities of Chengdu and Xian as we flew through China's vast countryside on bullet trains and sat in awe of how much and how fast this vast country has changed in the last thirty years. Cities of twenty million or more, sky high apartment buildings adorning every city skyline and hotels as classy as any western ones with the latest technology from robot room service to AI loos with handsets to warm them up or flush everything away. All top class- apart from one or two issues flights with Turkish Airlines and stopovers in Instanbul.



The real highlights however weren't the vast distances we travelled but the people we travelled them with-our multinational group from the UK, Australia and USA-and the entertainment we enjoyed on our gorgeous four night cruise on the Yangtze River sailing through the Three Gorges Dam with the staff providing the evening entertainment and even the Captain joining in, the tours of silk and jade factories, the Forbidden City & the gorgeous Sacred Garden by day and Xian's medieval City Walls lit up by night as well as delicious Chinese food every day served on our "Lazy Susan for all to share. We got a full-on taste of China, its rich medieval heritage and its people today not as we might portray them from western media but as a people as welcoming and friendly as anywhere else and apart from Tinnaman Square free to say-often in English and always very respectfully- what life is like in China today.



It was everything we hoped for -and more. But the Star of our Tour undoubtedly was our main guide Gary (all Chinese guides it appears have an English name) who not only kept us all on time and in line with phrases such as "Gary's Family", "Follow the flag", Sticky Rice (keep together) and "One Dollar" (someone is missing)/ "Two Dollar" (everyone's here) but with his "Chinglish", his inexhaustible good humour (at least one joke a day) and his genuine concern for and attention to detail with all 23 of us. This was more than a 'personal touch' or company training. This was Gary, knowledgeable, caring,funny and always smiling; one, if not, the best tour guide we have ever had and a huge compliment to Wendy Wu who it seems sets the standard as all the guides we met seem to know her personally. Gary and Wendy Wu made our tour of China both special and memorable and for that my wife and I are extremely grateful.
