A visit to the national symbol of Colombia is by far an attraction at the top of any travellers list.

Located at 2400 m above sea level and in the central cordillera of the Andean mountain, the valley is part of the Los Nevados National Park and is famous for its wax palms, the tallest palm trees in the world.

The journey to the valley takes about 1hour and 30mins from Armenia. While there a stop at the quaint nearby town of Salento is a must, there you can see the typical paisa architecture and visit the workshops of craftsmen and artisans.
