This was our first tour and we were extremely impressed by the organisation and the standards. The size of our group (19) was not overwhelming and allowed us to get to know our fellow travellers well. Our guide Jason was absolutely outstanding at his job. He was caring and knowledgeable with a good sense of humour, which added to the experience. 

I travelled with a friend Christine Beesley and we paid separately and had our own rooms so paid single supplement too!
The tour is amazing but there was a disconnect between what Wendy Wu organised and what the local agent Thompson organised!!!
On arrival in Johannesburg after an overnight flight and hardly any sleep we were welcomed at the airport and had a taxi transfer to the hotel, but there was only one room booked!!!! they expected us to share and it too two hours and us proofing the single room supplement PLUS four phone calls by ME to the local agent and finally Wendy Wu in the UK to resolve this!!!

We were sitting in the lobby and did not meet our guide till 6pm that evening.

Not a good start. We discussed this with our guide and he promised to make sure all the other hotel bookings would be correct.
But it happened again at the Safari Lodge hotel and at the Cape Town hotel! Each time WE had to point it out and get it fixed and it took time to do so.

At the safari lodge we were supposed to have a drumming and dancing show which did not happen and again there were two dinners on our Wendy Wu itenary which our guide did not know about. The group had to prove it to him and then it was organised at the last minute.

Loved the tour and hotels, but not up to your normal high standard.

Great that my original enquiry was followed up the next day, in fact with a better offer for upgrading to premium economy.

Our 1st WW tour last year in Japan was fabulous with a superb guide. Tsuru, who looked after the group excellently. Three months on and the group, based across UK, NZ and Australia, are still in touch and are currently booking our next adventure in China in 2027. Great attention to detail throughout the service from booking to arriving home.

Prompt responses to questions- nothing too much trouble.
Very reassuring as new been a solo traveller.

Wonderful, friendly service from the team at the roadshow at Tunbridge Wells on 20th Jan 2026. A very informative presentation to highlight a few of the places available with Wendy Wu. Space created to enable questions to be asked and the team were available to discuss any travel plans and to book a tour after the presentation.
Beau was very helpful in answering my questions and it was great to finally meet her having had numerous conversations regarding previous tours.
The Destinations Show is great to visit, but for me, the smaller setting of the roadshow was a much nicer experience.

They provide a comprehensive itinerary with some great additional, cost effective, alternatives such as extending your stay in Vietnam. I’ll report back after the trip about just how good the overall experience was
