Although there was a lot of travelling on gravel roads, the scenery at experiences at journeys end was well worth it.
The accommodation was great to fabulous with lodges in game parks with stunning views.
The food was delicious through out with fresh Oysters, Crayfish and fillet steak washed down with Cap Classique one of the highlights.
Lots of wildlife to see, although a lot of it was in game parks.

Excellent Tour, varied, educational, fast paced. An introduction to a great country which changed attitudes. Our Tour Guide Mark was brilliant; nothing was too much trouble for him. Everything ran efficiently. The eating places were very good. The hotels were, in the main, excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Absolutely amazing holiday. Wendy Wu takes great care of you from start to finish with everything included and a guide who stays with you on the whole trip. We started at Shanghai and then on to Guilin and Yangshuo which for me were the highlights of the tour. Then on to Xian and finishing up at Beijing. There were optional extras available and everywhere we went the food was excellent. I felt we did all the major sights and learned so much about the culture and life in China.

We had a shaky start to the tour where our friends who we were travelling with were in a different group to ours. We had been told by the company we would be in the same group as there was only one Grand Tour. I am pleased to say this was resolved quickly and we were able to enjoy the tour together.
The tour included so many incredible sights and we experienced different modes of transport. It was almost too much to take in and was a busy time. Our tour leader Jessie and the local guides did a wonderful job at keeping us together and dealing with any problems along the way. By the end of the trip we felt like family.
The hotel accommodation for the most part was good and the food gave us a good taste of Chinese food and different tastes in different areas. We enjoyed the round tables and turntables and made some good friends around it.
We feel we have had a great taster of China but know there are still many more things to see in China.

An excellent guided holiday covering the favourite tourist spots in three weeks. Great food, sights and good English speaking national and local guides. Well organised, with good customer support, and flexibility for flights, and extras like extensions.

It was rather hot and humid in September; probably mid October would be better. Should also be less crowded then. Physically not that demanding except walking up to the Great Wall with steep steps and some patches without handrails.

An excellent holiday to see as many places as possible in a given time without all the hassle of organising it.

Absolute brilliant holiday tour of China with Wendy wu , our guide Jessie was great with our every need and very patient as we were party of 28 . The timing were so perfected , I can honestly say we had the best time ever on holiday and I throughly recommend people go to China, it’s a wonderful country, the people are very welcoming and thanks to Wendy wu tour we got to experience the real China from small city to large city.

I had a great time on this tour. We packed so much in, there was always something else to do next. I've never slept so well at the end of each day! There was so much going on I've already forgotten half of what we did until I looked again at the itinerary just now.

The sights were amazing, from the cisterns to the cave houses, ruined temples to caravanserais. The boat trips were fun and relaxing, and exclusively for our group so tons of space, the battlefields were a fascinating opportunity to really appreciate the terrain and the tactics, and the Dervishes - although not what I'd been expecting - were mesmerising.

The guide, Ali, was really knowledgeable about so many different aspects of the country from the geology to the politics (we were never bored on the coach!), and our driver Jemal was great at getting the coach (which he kept pristine) as close as possible to where we needed to be.

We had the right amount of time everywhere and didn't feel rushed. I could have spent a lot longer in the underground city and generally grubbing about exploring caves/passageways along the walks we did, but that was just me - for the group as a whole, some of whom had mobility problems, it was plenty.

I enjoyed the food, and it was interesting to appreciate the variations in the staple dishes - lentil soup, kofta, salads - across the different towns. (The dessert buffet in Konya was amazing, despite being more "international" than Turkish.) It's also a great country if you like random friendly cats.

We had to queue for a couple of the main attractions in Istanbul, but this was apparently due to the arrival of several large cruise ships at the same time which was said to be unusual so it oughtn't to happen to you! The only other busy site was some rock churches which I didn't personally think were worth the wait (because the draw was that they had old Biblical murals/frescoes, which aren't really my thing. My recommendation, if you feel the same way, is to scoot over the road to explore the abandoned cave dwellings etc over there instead - I had it all to myself). Everywhere else was lovely and quiet.

Word of advice for the similarly-unseasoned traveller thinking they'll spend their remaining lira at the airport: other than the food (and you won't be hungry after two weeks on this tour) it's all priced in Euros! Go to the supermarket on the last morning and get all your take-homes from there.

Services and tourist guides are very good. The scenery and tour sites are marvellous but the cuisines needs to getting to. Maybe a bit more plain and less spicy food will suit the western stomache. Did have stomach problems for the first few days. Food is generally to spicy and oily.

Too much packed into the time we had. Guide was first class.

Feel v. privileged to have see terra cotta warriors and the Great Wall.
Sadly, my husband and I have been ill since we returned. He has got bronchitis and I have a nasty virus. We are mending slowly!

Overall a good mix of very busy days sightseeing in China + some downtime on the cruise. Tour guide in China was probably the best we have ever had. Locals guides varied from okay to excellent.

This is a very busy trip, packed with amazing locations and sights. Be prepared to cover lots of ground on foot, but it is worth it !!!

The initial purchase process was easy, and the itinerary appeared to cover the best sights/sites to be seen, bearing in mind that Taroko National Park was devastated by earthquake/mud slides last year.
We did see one unique sight: a temple destroyed by earthquake a few years ago - amazing ! We also learnt about the indigenous (non-Chinese) population, and saw several associated events/sites - this was all new to me.
The organisation of the tour was impeccable, as I have come to expect from previous Wendy Wu tours.
The food was good, varied and interesting., and our transport, by local coach, worked perfectly.
Our tour manager / guide, Tai, spoke good English and was very informative, amusing & attentive.

I would highly recommend Wendy Wu tours , they are very well organised . The tour of Japan was excellent with the guide being very well informed and she went the extra mile , providing us with her favourite snacks to try , cooling wipes and giving us a lot of information about Japanese culture and history .
