Less food at lunchtime would have been enough but this is a minor quibble

A very well organized trip, seeing all the must see sights. The rep Ken kept informed with other colleagues so timings of the visits avoided excessive queuing and had less volume of tourists. Meals were included which were all shared banquet, the restaurants chosen for location and quality of local cuisine. This gave us a chance to try many different dishes that were preordered for us and saved time as location was near our itinerary stops. Transportation was very efficient, coach, plane and bullet train.Ken looked after all the details making our holiday totally hassle free. A vast distance covered in two weeks, not a minute wasted. A very interesting and enjoyable "holiday".

Fantastic holiday, everything as we expected. Great guide, Summer, travelled with us throughout, plus local guides in Shanghai and Beijing. Great organisational skills, tweaking the itinerary so that we missed the busiest times in Tiananmen Sq and at the Great Wall.
Food was excellent - too much of it!
Hotels also excellent.

Excellent tour. Singapore- fantastic but would have liked another 2 days there. Malaysia - guide did not always communicate information clearly, in fact did not know his name until 3 days into the tour. Batu caves, toilets were payable by local currency and guide not helpful. Luckily one of the other guests had a small amount of change and helped us so that we could use the facilities. The local guide really should have a small amount of change to help in these situations (we are talking about the equivalent of 10p English money). Thailand, Olivia the guide was excellent. Knowledgable, enthusiastic and caring. Most of all she shared her own personal experiences of life in Thailand on a rice plantation, which is always appreciated. Loved the Elephant Sanctuary and pineapple plantation.
Negatives - the information from Wendy Wu mentioned taking American Dollars and credit cards. I would say that American Dollars were useless. Need small amounts of local currency as many places on the tour had local markets to shop in, where they only took cash.
This is our 5th Wendy Wu tour and we missed the use of a Whisper and a National Guide. We understand that 3 countries were visited but still missed someone who would take overall responsibility for the group.
However, overall really enjoyed travelling by train. Would do it all over again. Experiences that we will remember forever.
The war in the Middle East obviously gave us some worry as we were travelling back via Dubai. However, the team at Wendy Wu found alternative flights, although we had to change twice in China to get home. Because of our inconvenience that send a beautiful hamper. Thank you.

The tour was jam packed of activities!
Jason was such an awesome guide who made our tour experience top notch. When issues arose he dealt with them promptly. The pandas were a personal highlight. Would definitely recommend. Good value for money!

This tour was a wonderful adventure through Cambodia and Vietnam. So many new experiences very different to what we are accustomed to. The hotels and food were generally very good and our tour guides were very friendly and informative with everything running like clockwork. The 'historic' visits covering the Cambodian Killing Fields and the Vietnam War were covered in an informative and sensitive manner. The 'cultural' visits included an overnight stay on the amazing Halong Bay and a visit to the enchanting and relaxing Hoi An. We were impressed with Phnom Penh, more so than Saigon, although a highlight of the latter was dinner in the dark at the Noir Restaurant. And we didn't want the tuk-tuk and cyclo rides to end. The four day cruise down the Mekong was relaxing and included some interesting visits to observe life along the river. The boat itself was very nice.

All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our third Wendy Wu Tour (after China and Egypt) and would highly recommend.

I recently completed a wonderful group tour of Vietnam with Wendy Wu Tours, which I booked direct. The package was all-inclusive, covering all flights, accommodation, transfers, sightseeing, and meals. It was incredibly convenient, as I only had to manage my own travel to and from my local airport and drinks.

Wendy and our national tour guide, Duc, managed every detail perfectly to ensure the trip was memorable and that we experienced the best of Vietnam. This was my second trip with this company, having previously traveled with them to China over ten years ago.

I highly recommend Wendy Wu Tours for anyone looking for a well-organised travel experience.

a great experience with a lot packed in over seven days. the guides we had on the tour were wonderful.

So much of this four was absolutely fantastic, there were some aspects that we found a little challenging.
Firstly, the activity rating, we thought was far too low, especially the amount of walking, and steps we were required to navigate, and also the effects of the altitude, that elderly travelers might find more challenging. We thought it would have been at least a level 3 as opposed to 2, however that rating might have put potential travelers off.
We also did not enjoy the amount of "Transit Time" we had at either end of the tour.
We also have to make a special mention of our guides. The National one, Jessie, was excellent, and apart from one, that got a little carried away with the history of a university, they were all superb.
The first part of the tour was fantastic even though the weather was awful. Hard long days, but spectacular. Accommodation was great and while the food wasn't to our taste, it was what we expected as we have traveled through China before.
Chengdu, and the Pandas were definitely one of the highlights of the trip however it has to be mentioned that the hotel had its own problems. We had searched the hotels before we departed, and the Rezen Chengdu had more than a few complains about it smelling of smoke, and it did. The room and rest of the hotel were clean enough, but it still smelt of smoke. Quite poor.
Also, it was a surprise that when you travel on the Bullet Trains, and we had 4 on this trip, the security is even stricter than air travel given all your luggage travel with you, so anything Flammable or over 100ml gets confiscated. Quite a surprise when you get your shaving foam confiscated. The latter part of the tour, and Tibet was awesome, although the standard of the "Celebrity Hotel" Huanglong left a lot to be desired.
All in all, the Tibet experience was awesome.
Chong Qing was the most unexpected highlight in its own right, both the city and the tours. A great end to an excellent tour.
One thing that surprised us though, was the lack of "included" beverages with dinner, give that on our previous Wendy Wu tours, that had been normal. Something we did not expect.
Having done a number of other Wendy Wu tours, it was certainly well up with the high standard set by the previous ones, and also that it did not include any of the areas in China that most other tours include. Definitely one of the features that attracted to this tour. We are certainly looking forward to our next one, Indonesia in 2026.

Went with Wendy Wu Tours as we had been with this company before to China. The holiday was simply excellent. Having got back home people say "How was your holiday ?" .... It's difficult to sum it up in one sentence. It was everything I hoped it would be and then some !! The people with us on the tour were great the guides in both Cambodia and Vietnam were superb it's tricky to fault it to be fair. If you want to see Indo China then book up and go to these two countries. If you don't enjoy it then take a long hard look at yourself...

Wondeful varied tour through China. Extremely well organised and planned. Great thought has gone into the accommodation and meals. Thoroughly enjoyed our time.

I may add that all of the local guides were of the same mind set and knowledgeable. We would not hesitate to recommend this tour, but a certain amount of fitness is required as this experience consists of a hectic schedule to see all that we had, but well worth the effort. A comprehensive tour of the best of China and Japan. Excellent hotels, superb guides. You must be prepared to support very early starts on most days as it is the only way to enjoy many of the popular venues before the crowds arrive. Leaving the hotel on a coach by 07.30 is not unusual. It would be impossible to cover as much ground and visit so many of the stand out destinations as a solo traveller. Our Wendy Wu supported travel arrangements with multiple flights and bullet train journeys proved faultless. Overall we felt this tour offered good value for money.
