Our guide Seky was superb as was the holiday itself. The programme itself was full on however Tokyo was perhaps the most disappointing element. Hotels all good but there was few places to socialise after dinner with a bar/lounge area.

Tricky start when trying to organise flights, and never really resolved satisfactorily. The content was comprehensive, however, the overall walking pace was just too fast. The physical rating was one, indicating long periods of being on your feet, which isn’t a problem, but the speed to keep to the schedule was too much. The tour guide was exceptional, informative and with a great sense of humour.

This is the second time we have travelled with Wendy Wu Tours and cannot fault them in any way whatsoever and will definitely be travelling with them again in the future. The tour was extremely well organised from start to finish and our guide was with us all the way and really helped to make the holiday perfect. I had a dietary requirement and I was catered for on every occasion above and beyond. The tour takes in all the essence of Japan, its lifestyle and culture. Absolutely perfect in every way.

The trip was good and the guide very experienced and knowledgeble. However the group was too large 27 in total. The problem with a group this large contributed to all the meals being served eithe luke warm or cold. The explanation was they had to cater for a very large group.

The trip to Hong Kong was disappointing with the inexperience of the guide. On the first organised trip we were obliged to move on very quickly, not being able to look around as another group, who had allegedly booked had arrived. I did question the fact we were on a paid organised trip and she should not have allowed this to happen. It was really not acceptable.

Very well organised. Our guide was exceptional. Hotels were very good.
Its a full-on tour though, early starts and some time on the coach, so would recommend some rest time added in to future tours.
Food was excellent. I would make one more recommendation - on occasion its better to have a simple lunch box provided in the daytime to avoid additional coach journeys to a lunch time venue away from the days attraction.
Overall though - a fantastic holiday full of experiences.

Our guide Midori was wonderful and knowledgeable. But we found the tour number too large and this limited the facility to go into more detail about the history and people of Japan. We also needed more time for ourselves, particularly in Kyoto and Tokyo. We felt there was no need to provide three meals a day, and especially no “western” ones! For example the pseudo Italian meal in Tokyo was awful. Having said that we had some amazing delicious Japanese food.

We overall really enjoyed the holiday and the tour was very busy and diverse but the tour guide was very difficult to understand and basically dropped us at places and told us to be at the bus at x time. While very nice she lacked passion or knowledge about places we were visiting and relied on copious written notes that she read on the bus but most couldn't hear or understand her. Kind of like listening to someone's homework... very tedious.
We were left to wander and wonder what things were in such culturally different places and some missed temples and key features because we just didn't know. Even when we asked questions she was not able to help or have answers.
Also the food was surprising inconsistent considering everywhere we looked had quality, reasonable food including service stations ! Some meals were lovely and local, some were in places where we wouldn't eat. Also we never did a sushi evening or noodle bar?? I mean it's Japan? So we did our own thing for some of the nights.
We wouldn't recommend or use again as we won't be going back to Japan so we needed to do it right the first time and we don't feel like a Wendy Wu tour enabled us to do that.

This is my second attempt to book with Wendy Wu. The first time nobody rang me back, which for £10,00 was a little off. I booked this time despite not being offered another airport. We don't all live in the south-east! Wendy Wu doesn't offer a taxi service, which most other companies do, but they do offer a useless few days in Hong Kong, which if you are part of a solo group isn't very useful, particularly as a woman travelling alone. I fully expect to be charged an extortionate amount of money to fly from Manchester, which plus the car will add a substantial amount. I do hope you are going to be worth it.

We decided to follow up and the holiday was booked that very afternoon because in addition to all the details in the brochure everything was explained to us in a concise and informative manner.

Very prompt in replying to messages and calling. Sorted out alternative flights. Took account of coeliac needs. Very efficient and personable staff

Our first escorted tour and probably the best holiday we had! From being greeted off our delayed flight in Osaka with a big smile from our Wendy Wu greeter, ensured we were on our way to our hotel. A big smile and greeting from our guide, Taichi Imamura at the hotel although late, made us feel "at home" and he ensured that we had our bentobox dinner.
Words cannot describe how Taichi made sure that everyone knew what was happening at each place we stopped at, where the best rest rooms were, places to pick up snacks. Even taking photos for everyone with their cameras and phones to ensure all memories were saved of the magnificent sights we saw. All the coach drivers were fantastic throughout the tour, hotels were very good and generally spacious and the places we were taken to for lunch and dinner had excellent facilities and good quality food. I can safely say that all the people on the tour, which comprised Australians, New Zealanders, Tasmanians and English, from the very first evening to the last all got on and mixed amongst each other and some great fun times were had by all.
We even found time to locate a few "Irish hubs"(pub) on the evenings and had some great laughs with Brian and Brenda from New Zealand, Tom and Kim and Stella/Julia in them. There were so many places we saw including Mount Fuji, Hiroshima dome and museum (which brought the heartache of suffering to mind), so many beautiful shrines and temples, finishing with seeing Sumo wrestling and the gorgeous Imperial East gardens and Shabuya scramble crossing.The views from the Sky Tree Tower were unbelievable too!
So clean, so cultural, so friendly, so beautiful. That was Japan uncovered for us!
