Our Tour: Excellent

The initial purchase process was easy, and the itinerary appeared to cover the best sights/sites to be seen, bearing in mind that Taroko National Park was devastated by earthquake/mud slides last year.
We did see one unique sight: a temple destroyed by earthquake a few years ago - amazing ! We also learnt about the indigenous (non-Chinese) population, and saw several associated events/sites - this was all new to me.
The organisation of the tour was impeccable, as I have come to expect from previous Wendy Wu tours.
The food was good, varied and interesting., and our transport, by local coach, worked perfectly.
Our tour manager / guide, Tai, spoke good English and was very informative, amusing & attentive.

Great holiday very well organized. Hotels and restaurants were also very good. When not eating at the hotel all restaurants were pre. arranged so there was no hanging about for tables.
The guide on our tour was also very knowledgeable and helpful. Only one negative thing is that our holiday was in September and some things were beginning to close down for the end of the season. But on the positive side there were no long queues. I would recommend that you tried a Wendy Woo holiday.

This was an excellent trip which took us all around the island, we saw history both ancient, modern and recent. Also natural amazing beautiful areas, national parks and a beach resort. We truly experienced a varied and fascinating trip around the island, as well as looking at the indigenous culture .

WendyWu provided a packed itinerary which was enjoyable throughout. The National Guide was excellent as was the coach and driver. Food throughout was varied giving us a chance to try different Taiwanese cuisine. The hotels were excellent standard, clean and spacious. I enjoyed every moment of my trip.

I feel so so lucky to have had Justin as my tour guide. Not only has he superb knowledge about Taiwan but he also was always looking out for ways to improve and extend our experience of the packed itineraray. He bought lots of snacks and fruits for us all to try. He constantly checked our wellbeing on journeys, teaching us a little Mandarin (with great humour) on the coach rides and letting us snooze when we were dozy. He was unbelievably kind and considerate to me when I got exhausted and was happy for me to do things at my own pace. When I had to have a rest and recharge day in the hotel to recover in the high humidity he sent me photos of where the group had been and brought information leaflets / gifts and snacks for me. Such a thoughtful man who absolutely made my holiday. I am eternally grateful to him for making my Taiwan tour such a memorable one.

The service I recently received from Arti was excellent once again. Her knowledge, advice and patience was outstanding. I have travelled with this company several times, and as a result of my experiences from the ease of booking to the tours themselves, I will always use this company. Nothing is too much trouble and everything is done to ensure that the tours deliver what they promise, and everybody is treated on a personal basis and not just a number. I can’t recommend this company enough.

I have travelled with Wendy Wu Tours to many countries and have never been disappointed. The itinerary is full and accommodation excellent. Everything is taken care of so that you can fully immerse yourself in the experience of visiting a wonderful destination. Cannot fault them.

Treasure of Taiwan was a good tasters of the island, accommodation was excellent as you expected from Wendy Wu. What I would do differently is stop over halfway to acclimatize the long flight was exhausting both there and back, pick up at airport was a fail but was soon solved once I had contacted help line, which required some patience and practice!!

Very helpful advice from Alexia in a pre booked phone consulation after she had researched a selection of less strenuous tours suitable for me. It was great that she had recently been on the Uzbekistan tour I selected as I was able to answer my specific questions. I also booked the Treasures of Taiwan tour for Spring 2025 and she'd also experienced that tour too.

The tour itinerary looked promising but the guide kept cutting out key parts without justification. He seemed determined to finish before 7pm each day including dinner - so that we were eating at 5:30 or 6pm before getting back to our hotel.
It was perfectly understandable that we couldn't visit Taroko Park because of the earthquake, but there was no reason to cancel the scheduled sunset beach visit nor the 2 hour walk in Kinteng national park the following day.
Accomodation was generally fine, but the so-called spa hotel was not. It merely had spa water coming out of the bath taps - we had to go to another hotel to enjoy spa facilities.
Atogether a very disappointing trip.

Our Tour: Good

Several things needed improvement. There was FAR too much food. No one needs or wants huge lunches and dinners every day. Also this meant we never had a chance to eat in local cafes etc. Our guide thought the only shopping we might want was for snacks(!) and beer so we went to 7-11s every day. I didn't manage to get any presents for family. When we went anywhere he told us the time and place to meet but got uptight if you strayed more than a few yards from him.
