Mongolia blew my mind. From the Gobi desert to the steppes. The steppes reminded me of Switzerland, but on steroids. It was lovely to see so many animals roaming freely. It was everything I wanted in my adventure in Mongolia . Staying in the yurts, 14 of them was an experience. Like everything some were better than others. The opening ceremony of the Naadam festival was as good as anything I’ve seen at the Olympics.

The trip as a whole was above our expectations. The changing scenery was fantastic. The drives outside of Ulaanbaatar were rough but as described in the itinerary and the scenery made up for the conditions. The gers and food on the whole were much better than I was expecting. The guide was ok but at times did not give accurate instructions for the next day and slower members of the group were often left behind on walks. We were given 2 packed lunches that I considered inappropriate as both the main meals contained warm meat and rice or veg that may have been hot in the morning but by lunch time just warm. They had just been kept in bags in the bus and not cooled at all. I considered this a health hazard. The breakfast provided on the final day in comparison was very good. It was difficult as we could not use the return flight to Ulaanbaatar from the lake due to flight delays I think but this resulted in a two day drive back to the capital and reduced our time there and made the days before the festival very tiring. The opening ceremony was fantastic and very colourful. The wrestling archery and knuckle bone contests interesting. The final day for the horse racing was a long very slow drive due to the amount of traffic and resulted in us having to walk a long way to the start of the race. The race was delayed and all you saw was a few riders setting off then about an hour after the riders crossing the finish line. It was a long time for not much entertainment.

Brilliant holiday in a very diverse, amazing country. Exceeded my expectations as I didn’t realise how vast and different areas of the country were. A very proud nation of people who have kept to their traditions and roots which is sadly lacking in some places around the world. I would describe this break as an adventure rather than a holiday and would definitely recommend for the adventurers out there, the take it as you find it type of traveller 👍. Some of the scenery is breath taking

Visiting Mongolia and touring the country has been the most rewarding experience ever. The icing on the cake was being able to attend the Nadaam Festival opening ceremony, seeing the archery and ankle bone competitions and spending the day watching the horse racing. It has been a life changing experience.

I had excellent help from Andrew when I needed information about the trip I wished to book. We then went to the Little Aston day and booked the holiday. Without Andrew’s help this would not have been possible.

The tours they provide have packed itineraries with knowledgeable national guides to provide the best experience ever. Food and accommodation is excellent.

'Land of the Blue Sky' is indeed unlike anywhere else, a must for any adventurer. Scenery from mountain to steppe to desert, the thrill of the Naadam Festival opening ceremony and the warm welcome from the nomadic families with their herds.
This was my second visit to Mongolia such were my very fond memories!
